I'll admit that I've been procrastinating about writing up the Simple Stories booth from CHA Winter 2013, but only because I took so many photos that I was afraid it would take forever to finish it! Their three new collections and additions to the Sn@p collection were some of my favorite items at the show, though, so it's time for me to get this one out there!
I'll start with my favorite section of the booth, the extension to the Sn@p collection. Introduced last fall as an easy album system for 6x8 binders, the line has now been expanded to include 12x12 albums and a whole new set of 12x12 divided page protectors!
Just looking at these new designs gives me so many ideas for getting hundreds of vacation photos from the past decade (and more) quickly and easily into albums. The pockets are sized to fit the cut-apart elements on Simple Stories' patterned papers, and you can see the full lineup of sizes that will be available when this line ships in late April/early May here.
cha winter 2013 : simple stories
cha winter 2013 : the crafters workshop
Today I've got a double dose of CHA Winter 2013 coverage to share with you! This morning we'll kick things off with a look at new releases by The Crafter's Workshop, and later this evening I'll be back with another booth tour!
Julie Fei-Fan Balzer just happened to be hosting a make-and-take demonstration in the booth when I stopped by to check out all of the new stencils that The Crafter's Workshop debuted at the show, so let's start off this little tour with a look at the new stencils in her signature line!
I'm loving the triangle stencil in the photo above!
And the photo below shows another cool take on the triangle trend.

Pebbles has long been known for bright and whimsical scrapbooking supplies, and their offerings at the CHA Winter 2013 show definitely stayed true to those roots.
We'll start off our tour of their CHA booth with the Love You More collection.
Love Your More comes in two colorways- a pink and red version with lots of florals and butterflies for the girls, and a blue and green set with lots of toy planes, trains, and cars for the boys.
sketch layout for pretty little studio
It was my turn for a sketch layout over at Pretty Little Studio this week, and I had a lot of fun with Keri's sketch!
I kept the circles in the background (using a doily in place of one and patterned paper for the others) and used the idea of two photos strips but formed a block with them instead of having them offset.
Supplies:
I dug into the April Showers collection for this layout along with just a little help from Monsieur's journaling tags (the photos are from my birthday last year where I had a green and gold theme going).
Since Pretty Little Studio's papers are all 8x8, I always have my choice of background papers, and I decided to break into the stack of lovely Basic Grey Fact and Fiction papers that Mom picked up for me at JoAnn (since my own local store decided not to carry it). Pretty Little Studio and Basic Grey have vastly different styles, so it took a few minutes of flipping through the papers to find one that worked, but I love how the polka dot background adds just a touch of pattern that you don't get with just plain cardstock.
All of the embellishments are also stash, from the resin flowers (Michaels has them in every colors) to the chipboard butterflies (from an old Studio Calico kit- maybe last February?) and even that pinked yellow foam circle behind the title. I've had that for ages (it was a Tuesday Morning closeout find) and am so happy to be getting these items on layouts!

Becky Higgins' Project Life booth at CHA Winter 2013 was an island of organized little white boxes in the midst of the colorful sea of all of the paper and embellishments on display in the other manufacturer's booths. Everything about the Project Life booth- from the video screens playing a short introductory movie to the product displays themselves screamed that there was something different about this approach to scrapbooking, and it was interesting to step back and just watch retailers' reactions as Becky and her booth staff introduced them to the concept.
I had hoped that sample core kits would be on display in the booth and open to allow all of the journaling cards for each new collection to be seen, but instead the core kits were sealed and sample albums available for a few of the editions, instead, so I took pictures of what I could, and the rest can be seen in the Project Life catalog on Becky's site.
We'll kick things off with the Jade Edition, a lovely mix of greens and blues with pops of contrasting reds and yellows as accents.
a very fawny valentine's!
All week long Lawn Fawn is bringing you lots of Valentine's Day inspiration! Even the girls who usually do layouts for the team are getting in on some card and papercrafting action this time around, and I chose to whip up a box of Valentine treats to share with my family! The fact that I was in the mood to buy Valentine's candy had absolutely nothing to do with this decision. And if you buy that...
Supplies:
I grabbed 8 little kraft bags that I've had in my scrapbook stash for a while and went to town stamping them with several Lawn Fawn sets, including the newest Valentine's release, Bee Mine. You'll also spot some leftover bits of Dewey Decimal papers (the DT doesn't have new paper to work with yet, and it feels great to use some of the older stuff up first!) and stickers in the mix- the pink and aqua sheets from the collection work beautifully for Valentine's Day, as does the Peppermint Lawn trimmings cord!
I had fun layering doilies on these bags, too- the heart shaped and pink floral varieties are from the Target dollar spot and Dollar General, respectively, and both were purchased several years ago!
Be sure to pop over to the Lawn Fawn blog to see what the other girls have cooked up this week!

Lily Bee Design is really growing as a company, and at CHA Winter 2013 they expanded their range of embellishments to add some exciting new options to go along with their three new paper collections!
Let's jump right in and take a look at the first new line on our little tour of the Lily Bee booth- Destination. This travel-themed collection uses a palette of primary colors that's become so popular for travel lines, and mixed amongst the map, globe, and airplane patterns you'll also find non-themed prints like dots, triangles, and chevrons that are great for everyday scrapping, too.

project life 2012 | week 39 {pretty little studio}
This month for my Pretty Little Studio layout I decided to use papers from their Monsieur collection. The collection has a very boyish theme overall with lots of plaid and woodgrain and classic cars, but by picking and choosing papers I was able to pull a fairly gender-neutral palette out of it.
Supplies:
I didn't have a lot of photos this week- it was in late September of last year, and I was simultaneously finishing up my scuba diving certification, fighting off some sinus troubles, and getting ready to start on our kitchen remodel.
I discovered that I struggle to fill pockets when I don't have lots of photos, so I tried writing a bit more than usual, using some memorabilia, and even pulling out one of Pretty Little Studio's vintage flashcards just to have something decorative in a pocket (the card is stamped with the week's dates, so it's functional, too).
I'm edging ever closer to having 2012 finished, and I've been steadily editing and printing away at 2013's photos. I'll be starting on those pages very soon now!
