Welcome back to my third entry for Lawn Fawn's February Inspiration Week! Today I have two layouts to share using the new Perfectly Plaid papers that were part of the CHA Winter 2016 release. All of the new items will be available for purchase on February 18th in the Lawn Fawn shop and at other retailers, and both Simon Says Stamp and Scrapbook.com actually have the entire CHA Winter 2016 release available for preorder right now!
My first layout uses Perfectly Plaid pretty much on its own- just some white cardstock, vellum, and a tag added in. I find that my Lawn Fawn layouts are a little bit less full of "stuff" than my other pages, simply because the company makes fewer embellishments. I enjoy the challenge, though, and they make plenty of dies that make it easy to make my own page accents.
Hands down my favorite Lawn Fawn dies to use on layouts are their alphabets. I used Finley's ABCs to cut the title for this page from some salmon colored felt. A few years ago I bought a big 6x9 sampler pack of awesome wool blend felt from Benzie Design, and it's become a staple on my Lawn Fawn pages. Honestly, if I could go back in time to when I first started scrapbooking, I wouldn't buy Thickers or large alphabet stickers at all- I'd gladly trade them all for alphabet dies and some basic materials such as foam, felt, and cork that are so versatile and don't leave you with lots of leftover letters!
You'll be seeing lots of miss Sophie Clare on my Perfectly Plaid layouts over the next few months since her wardrobe seems to be a perfect match for the colors in the collection, but for my second layout today I actually ventured into some garden photos.
This page mixes Perfectly Plaid with Lawn Fawn's second new paper collection, Let's Polka in the Meadow. The colors in the two lines really complement each other nicely.
I used another set of Lawn Fawn alphabet dies- this time it was Cole's ABCs- to cut my title from some thin cork sheets.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I'll be back tomorrow with one final card using more of the new release stamps. See you then!
