Lawn Fawn August 2018 Inspiration Week // Double Slider Surprise (in a TN!)

Friday, August 17, 2018

Hello, and welcome back to another day of Lawn Fawn's Release and Inspiration week for this month! This week the design team is working with a batch of the new products (which will release on August 23rd), and today we're all playing with the Double Slider Surprise die!

I decided to see how well this would work to add extra photos in my latest scrapbooking love- traveler's notebooks. I know I jumped on this bandwagon late in the game, and I'm not really sure why I resisted for so long! I love this smaller format and how quickly pages come together. Sometimes, though, I still have an extra photo or two I'd like to include while still keeping lots of white (or, in this case, green) space on a page.

The slider mechanism is surprisingly easy to put together since the die set cuts everything out for you. Kelly has a great video up on the Lawn Fawn YouTube channel explaining how to put everything together and also showing some great card examples.

I will say that while I really like this idea for adding photos to one or two layouts in a TN, it can add a bit of bulk to the page since you need to use a heavier weight (I used 80lb) cardstock for the pullout tabs. It's definitely not something I would use on every page in a notebook, but it's definitely a fun way to mix things up here and there!

The little apple image is from the new Caramel Apple stamp set, and I colored it (and actually all of my images for this week) with either Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens or Arteza Real Brush Pens

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to hop over to the Lawn Fawn blog where the rest of the design team has some amazing card examples using the Double Slider Surprise waiting for you!

  1. This is very cute. Seeing that apple made me think of having a recipe inside the slider. Love this. [Bunny]
