Eeeeek!! Geek Girl is a bit late this week since my interwebs decided to forsake me yesterday afternoon and didn't come back until sometime early this morning. And since it likely came back up while I was asleep and didn't really know that it was on again, does that mean it was Schroedinger's Interwebs, at least for a short time? And if the internet fell in the woods and nobody was there to hear it...would Al Gore still have invented it?

Except for the aformentioned loss of connectivity, the weekend was actually fairly awesome. And geeky. I spent quite a bit of time in my office madly crafting up a storm, writing, and playing waaaaay too many (is there such a thing?) episodes of Stargate: Atlantis in the background. And I'm totally missing Doctor Who and ready for it to be BACK ON ALREADY, so there are plenty of Whovian items sprinkled throughout this week's geeky roundup.

From the top left:
  • San Diego Comic Con, also know as Geektopia. One of these years I'm actually going to go to it, but until then I'll have to live vicariously through photos. Nerdvana has an excellent image collection, and the Lego ninja is pure win.
  • Lego has commemorated the final flight of the Space Shuttle program with this awesome new building set. As a geekling engineer who frequents the grounds of Marshall Space Flight Center several times a week, I'm totally loving this.
  • The icing details on these Doctor Who cookies are simply incredible, but given the dire consequences of simply looking at or touching a Weeping Angel, I'm not sure how I'd feel about eating one!
  • Oh, Whovians, is there anything you won't use as a canvas to proclaim your undying love of the series? Yes, folks, that really is a TARDIS carved into a banana of all things!
  • This is possibly the most amazing set of Doctor Who cupcakes I have ever seen. The fondant artwork is fantastic!
  • Microsoft recently released their official R2-D2 limited edition X-Box, but...
  • ...more intrepid geeks might want to build their own using this guide at Instructables. (Thanks, Dave, for sending that along!)
  • This Millennium Falcon wedding cake even lights up!!
  • And our final bit on this week's roundup is this awesome TARDIS cake.

And for those of you who might be missing Doctor Who as much as I am right now, here's a quick look back at the first half of season 6. Warning!! If you haven't seen any of these episodes, then don't watch- it pretty much spoils every.single.one.

Until next time, geek out, peeps!
