friday favorites | more ideas for using your scraps

Friday, May 25, 2012

I wanted to end this week of using your scraps with a very special Friday Favorites roundup of even more ways to use up those leftover bits! I've collected ideas from all over, so lets get started!

From the top left:

  • Kim Stewart's lovely art can easily be made with a Silhouette (or craft knife) and lots of patterned paper strips.
  • This card at Paper Crafts Connection shows just one way to use a small die cut to make a repeated pattern- the perfect way to use up some of those smaller scraps!
  • Also at Paper Crafts Connection, these DIY layered stickers once again use small die cuts + small pieces of patterned paper.
  • Have lots of ribbon scraps? Natt Smith's card puts a new twist on yesterday's look at using up scraps in the negative space of your die cuts.
  • I've posted this idea in a Friday Favorites roundup before, but Anabelle O'Malley's beautiful collage cards are a great way to use up small scraps.
  • This layout by Paige Evans for Hambly Screen Prints shows a great way to use up leftover pieces of both ribbon and paper alike.
  • Therm O Web took Betsy Veldman's idea for using scrap strips that was a major inspiration for my last Use Your Scraps Week and came up with several new designs using the same technique! There's also another variation on the same technique here on the Papertrey Ink blog.
  • A recent Glitter Girl video at Two Peas in a Bucket covered three strategies for using scraps on your layouts.
  • And, again, punched/die cut shapes from small bits of leftover paper are the stars of the show on this card at Moxie Fab World.
TTFN, and thank you for sharing another fun Use Your Scraps Week with me!
