Today I...

...said goodbye to Darren as he left for a ten day trip to Kenya
...cleaned the house
...watched lots of Stargate: Atlantis to get my Joe Flanigan fix until Darren gets back and we can watch this movie (thanks for the heads up, Nancy!!)
...wrote up my CHA sneak peek picks for Scrapbook Update (I'll let you know when they're posted)
...checked and prepped all the camera gear for next week's trip to CHA
...got the August Sweet Peach kit in the mail and promptly fell in love with it- I'm already planning and plotting layouts!
...had a great time at Tae Kwon Do helping test color belts for their next levels
...selected and printed photos for a cubic ton of layouts that I need to scrap tomorrow...which of course means more Joe Flanigan Stargate: Atlantis

• I've wondered for some time how Marcy Penner gets those cool curled edges on her papers. I've tried normal methods of distressing, but none have come close to the level of dimension she manages to add to her papers. Lucky for me, she shared her technique over at Sassafras!
• These gorgeous paper starbursts are themed for Independence Day, but you could easy change the color scheme and use them for an occasion. Get the how-to at Hostess With the Mostess.
• These cute paper lanterns at the Cricut blog are another great idea for party decor.
• Lisa Day shares her twine and floss storage- love those cute clothespins!
• If you're in the mood for a full video and photo tour, then you're in luck as Nichol Magouirk has shared her entire space with us. It's stuffed full of great organizational ideas!
• Learn to print your journaling on washi tape strips at Hambly Screen Prints.
• The second distressing tutorial I have to share with you hails from GCD Studios, where you'll learn how to really rough up the edges of your papers.
• Sassafras has another great tutorial, this time on how to make those cool baker's twine flourishes on your layouts. It's easier than you think!
