Project 365

Thursday, January 1, 2009

After mostly finishing Ali's December Daily project (I'll post photos as soon as it's all done), I discovered another scrapbooking project that I'm going to do all next year- Becky Higgins Project 365. The concept is to simply take a photo each day of *anything* in your life (house, something at work, something you did that day, current book you're reading, your left pinky toe- whatever) and put it into a simple album with a little bit of journaling to describe it. At the end of the year, you have this massively cool cross section of your life documented.

Instead of buying her kit, though, I decided to make my own. Nothing against her kit- it looks lovely and is a great value- but I wanted to do something with paper and items I already had at home and in some different colors than the ones in the kit. I purchased the 4x6 photo pages for a 12x12 album (both are 50% off at Hobby Lobby this week) and put all the journaling cards in place so the album is all ready just to slide photos in and write.

  2. Are those the small journaling blocks in the last picture? Those are cute and I never would have thought to put them together that way. I also bought the kit, but may do my own next year, too.

  11. I love what you did with the project! I'd like to know the dimensions on your journaling blocks too if you don't mind sharing. I'm doing the "365" without a kit & need to put something together. TFS!!

  13. I used the very same layout for my 365 (didn't get the kit either) and oddly enough, the exact same paper! Bought the paper at HL several months ago and decided it would make a nice cohesive look for this project. I haven't been able to get my page protectors yet, I'm waiting until they go on sale again, but I can't wait to put it together.
