It's been just over a month since I was at Star Wars Celebration V. While the post-con high has ebbed somewhat, there's still plenty of buzz about the event out and about in blogland.
Several blogs have posted floor reports from various attendees and volunteers. A few of my favorites are:
- Liz Lee's favorite moments from the con (I love her geek girl perspective)
- TheForce.net posted articles about Celebration V through the eyes of Dustin Roberts and Mandy Bulat.
- Here's a play-by-play of the Celebrating Celebration opening event.
- Club Jade links to a recap of The Main Event at the official site, and also recaps the announcement that Star Wars will be coming to Blu-Ray next fall. The bad news? It will be the special editions...because, you know, Han didn't really shoot first. More info about the Blu-Ray release here.
- I didn't have the chance to attend The Last Tour To Endor, but you can see video footage of it here, along with the video shown while fans were waiting in line here.
- The official blog posted a behind the scenes look from the editing room here. I love the time-lapse of the crowd roaming in the background.
- TFN reported on Del Rey's newest offerings, including a schedule of books through the summer of 2012. I spy a new book by Timothy Zahn (holla!!!) and the announcement that Vortex, the next book in the Fate of the Jedi series, will be released on December 7, 2010. I don't think that was exactly news, but the release of the back cover featuring Kenth Hamner just a week or so after the con was. Club Jade has also posted a blurb from Vortex here.
- Club Jade also posted their own book report. The 9th and final novel in the Fate of the Jedi series will be named Apocalypse, and after that the publishers will shy away from long story arcs for a while (thank you, thank you, thank you!). And, probably the biggest announcement for me- Aaron Allston will be authoring a new Wraith Squadron book. Yipppeeee!! More flyboys!!
- Star Wars Books Online also posted a recap of book news.
- Speaking of Fate of the Jedi, TFN posted a recap of the author panel here.
- Dark Horse Comics hosted a panel and made some announcements about upcoming comics.
- Check out the Slave Leia group photo here at the official site.
- Rebel Scum has galleries of the 501st Legion, Rebel Legion, TK Project, and R2 Builders exhibits.
- Pop Goes the Culture covers Days 1 and 2 and Days 3 and 4 in depth.
- Club Jade posted a blurb about the final attendance count- more than 32,000 people!
- Club Jade also has a great post-con roundup post here.
