I think that fully half of the photos in this post are of the booth itself, but with breathtaking displays such as this tree filled with butterflies, can you really blame me?
Notice the beads in the tree? They're all from Blue Moon Beads- a company that DCWV acquired shortly before the last CHA show. I love how DCWV has artfully meshed its jewelry and papercrafting sides into a seamless booth experience.
Here's another lovely tree, complete with a May Flaum photobomb!
Isn't this paper peacock absolutely stunning? You simply can't appreciate the detail in all of these decorations until you see them up close!
And here are the fish and turtle I talked about earlier. Again, such amazing detail, and I love the use of beads here, too.
The last bit of booth decor we'll look at before getting to the product are these beautiful parrots in a gorgeous orange and purple color scheme.
Isn't the booth simply breathtaking?
Now, let's get on with looking at the new products, because you know that DCWV always brings lots and lots of new paper stacks to the show!
The first grouping of new stacks includes (among others that we'll look at shortly) one of my very favorites- Coral Couture. Coral/Peach/Pink/Orange is a hot color trend in scrapbooking this season, and this stack has it all along with some great aqua accents. Stay tuned to my blog a few weeks from now when I'll be taking a much closer look at this stack!
I love the there's a journaling card sheet in the stack- can you say Project Life?
There's a matching cardstock pad for each of the new stacks, and some of the sheets are glittered! Don't worry, it's the good kind of glitter that doesn't rub off and make a mess!
The Tres Chic stack is all sophistication, all the time with a mix of neutrals and a bit of blush pink and light blue in a definite Parisian theme. Unfortunately it looks like I only took one photo of an inside sheet and only the outside cover of the cardstock stack- so sorry about that! You can get a look at the whole collection here on DCWV's web site.
Chateau Lavender brings shades of spring green and lilac together with rustic creams in a spring-themed line.
And of course there's matching cardstock here, too!
Serenity is another stack that caught my eye immediately. The neutral palette is well-suited for so many subjects, but I have foreign travel photos in mind for this one!
DCWV also manufactures coordinating 4x6 mat stacks for all the new collections, and did I mention that it's all (both the full-size and mat stacks) printed on a heavy, high-quality cardstock?
DCWV is expanding their paper line to include specialty items, as well, with additions like their new adhesive fabric paper.
Yes, this is real fabric, and you can cut it, tear it, fray the edges, and dye it just like any other fabric...except you don't have to worry about adding adhesive to it before attaching it to your project!
Fabric Paper comes in both a pink and a blue set (each containing 12 sheets), and the patterns have a definite vintage feel about them.
Jewel Stacks are another new item from DCWV this season. These cardstock packs (24 sheets per set) have rhinestones already adhered to the paper.
Chalkboards have been totally trendy in home decor for a year or so now, and DCWV is making it even easier to achieve the look with their new Chalkboard Stack.
Regular chalk works on these papers, but it will rub off. If you want a permanent solution, you can use a white watercolor pencil. It gives the same effect, but won't wipe off or smudge.
DCWV's Creamy Cardstock Stack has a texture that you simply have to touch to believe. It's incredibly silky smooth and...well, creamy!
A little earlier in our tour I mentioned DCWV's acquisition of Blue Moon Beads, and I spent a little time in that portion of the booth, as well. I fell in love with some of these elaborate beads- especially the glass seahorse in the photo below!
I've already spotted the specialty stacks (Chalkboard, Jewel, Creamy Cardstock, and Fabric) at my local Michael's store, so you may be able to find them near you, as well. The printed stacks should be shipping in March, so keep an eye out for them then!
