EK Success always has a massive booth at CHA, and it's no wonder considering they're the parent brand for companies like Martha Stewart Crafts, K and Company, and Jolees. I have so many photos from their booth alone that I've compiled a whopping three posts to share them with you, and I'm going to start with K and Company, who revealed their new paper lines and Smash book offerings at this show.
The Smash line was expanded at CHA Winter 2012 to include new books, new types of books, and a bundle of new embellishments.
Baby and Wedding themed books have joined the ranks of regular-size Smash journals, though as I flipped through the pages of each book I didn't see anything that would really preclude these from being used for almost any theme. I will caveat that by saying that I didn't study every page in depth, so I could totally be wrong.
Let's take a look at the Baby Smash book...
...and the wedding themed album (which was already filled in so you can get an idea of how these books are used).
K and Company introduced an entirely new (and much larger) line of Smash journals at the show, as well. I took a few photos of the album with the orange spine, though I neglected to show the cover (you can see it in the first photo of this post, though).
I did recover my wits by the time I got to the purple one, though, so here's the cover of that one.
And here's another shot with May Flaum included for scale. See? Big Smash! Okay, I admit that I really just wanted an excuse to yell Big Smash! while writing this. There, I feel better now.
There are new embellishments and tools for the Smash line, too, including new tapes, tabs, labels, and a label maker that looks suspiciously like the old Dymo that I have that used to belong to my Dad. Here's hoping that the same tapes work in it and that K and Company eventually makes a woodgrain variety!
K and Company has some great offerings over on the non-Smash side of things, too, including the newest additions to the Beyond Postmarks cardmaking line.
This collection has been around for a while but is getting a massive update with new paper pads and loads of new die cut packs.
I just love packages of little die cut bits like this. It gives me so much to choose from when I'm either scrapping or making cards, and they're great for layering!
Tim Coffey has a new travel line for this year, and it's entirely beach-y themed!
This collection features two new paper pads, an album, and tons of new embellishments in the standard K and Company offerings including die cuts, border packs, and layered stickers. That's one of the things that I love about K and Company- when they make a new line, they make everything for it.
Bloomscape is hands down my favorite of the new K and Company releases, and you can bet that I'll be stalking my local Michaels hoping that they get this in. That's the only downside of loving K and Company- sometimes their stuff can so darned hard to find! I have to hope that my local Michaels gets it in stock, and then I have to hope that it doesn't go out of stock before I discover that it's there! I got really lucky recently at my local store and happened upon the new Sweet Nectar items right as they were being put out. I think they were gone approximately 10.2 seconds later...or at least a week later when I went back for a few more pieces.
Anyway, back to Bloomscape. I'm completely loving the colors and the florals here. It's bold without being overdone, bright without being neon. I can already tell that this collection and kraft paper are going to be BFFs.
I'll say it again- K and Company die cut packs are sheer awesomesauce. Just look at the variety of shapes, sizes, and colors, and Michaels usually stocks them for $3.99 US a pack. A super great bargain.
I'll finish out this portion of the EK Success tour with a look at Kelly Panacci's Blossom collection.
The papers have the girly pinks going on for sure, but there are also a lot of blues and greens in the accents. It's a beautiful, elegant line.
I'll be stalking stores to find the new K and Company items for sure, but Stop and Scrap is making it easy to get your hands on the new Smash items. They just opened up preorders for all the new albums, embellishments, and tools this morning, and you can save an extra 12% off the already discounted price by using coupon code SCRAPPYJEDI at checkout. The items are due to ship in April.
There's a lot more to love and look at from the EK Success booth coming up later today. I'll be back a little later with the new Martha Stewart items and then a look at something special from Jolees, as well!
