Bazzill has long been known for their high-quality cardstock, but patterned paper is a relatively new venture for them. I believe that CHA Winter 2012 marked only the second or third show that they've introduced patterned lines, and I made it a point to stop by their booth to check out the new offerings...and to make sure I met one particular designer in person!
Bazzill is bringing four new patterned paper lines to market this season- Avalon, Dino-Mite, Vintage Marketplace, and Wayfarer.
I'll start off with Vintage Marketplace- it was definitely the one I was most excited to see, and it didn't disappoint!
You see, this collection is the work of none other than Margie Romney-Aslett, formerly of Making Memories, Authentique, and in between those two gigs she had her own (fantastic, I might add- I'm still hoarding my stash of it!!!) signature line with Advantus, The Girls' Paperie. Margie has now found a new home with Bazzill, and Vintage Marketplace is her first signature line them.
Can I just add that Margie is such a sweetheart in person? I'm so glad I got to meet her!
You can spot Margie's beautiful style in this line right off the bat. It reminds me so much of her work with The Girls' Paperie, and I love it!
This CHA was definitely a show full of comebacks, and a second major reappearance also happened in the Bazzill booth- this time by Janet Hopkins (formerly of House of 3) with her new Wayfarer line.
It seems that Bazzill is doing a great job of selecting top-notch designers and then really letting them do their own things, because just as Margie's style was readily apparent in her new collection, Janet's was definitely on display, too!
Wayfarer is a travel line, and it features the mix of neutrals and themed prints (such as maps) that I love to see in this type of collection. Travel photos can take on many colors and themes, so a neutral base is a great thing to have when working with them.
And you know I adore this map print, right? :)
Dino-Mite is Bazzill's boy themed offering this release, and the name says it all- dinosaurs abound!
There are some great all-occasion prints here, too, like this bright blue chevron.
Avalon is the more girl-ish of the Bazzill releases and sports a floral theme with lots of red, blue, and pink in the mix.
Bazzill is really stepping up their patterned paper game with the addition of Margie Romney-Aslett and Janet Hopkins to their lineup of designers. These new lines aren't quite shipping yet, but when they do you'll be able to find them in the Bazzill section of Scrapbook.com
