Let's take a closer look at each of the four new lines.
Plumeria is a happy mix of purples and orange with just a bit of yellow and green thrown in. It reminds me a lot of the Wisteria line they released a few years ago and also the more recent Kioshi. I love getting a new line that coordinates well with older stash that I have while still bringing something fresh to the mix.
I also love the mix of small and large patterns and the inclusion of trendy herringbone, hexagon, and chevron motifs.
The embellishments are stunning, as well, ranging from buttons to brads (Basic Grey is introducing new layered brads to their lineup) to decorative border strips.
Basic Grey is also adding their popular transparencies into a mixed die cut pack that's new with this release.
And of course Basic Grey's design team did a stellar job with the booth samples.
Konnichiwa had me at "cherry blossoms." I'm a serious sucker for anything with a cherry blossom on it (I've blogged about my obsession with them before), so you know I'm going to be buying most (if not all) of this gorgeous collection.
I think this branch paper might just be my favorite of the whole set. ::sigh::
I'm also totally digging the cherry blossom motifs in the embellishments- especially in the chipboard!
I thought that PB+J looked very, very primary in the online previews, but in person it really is a nice mix of colors!
The patterned papers are reminiscent of the designs you'd find in quilting calicos, and the entire line has a homespun feel about it.
These decorative stick pins and flags are another new embellishment in the Basic Grey family.
I thought that these layered butterfly stickers were absolutely gorgeous!
What's Up is one of those lines that can be anything you want it to be. For me it's a whimsical travel line (just look at those hot air balloons and that map print!), but it could also be a girly line, a summer picnic line, or fit any number of themes!! It also includes a trendy shade of peach- something I noticed a lot of while at the show.
Sunburst style patterns such as the one in the lower right of the photo below are becoming more and more popular in the industry.
And of course there are more lovely embellishments to be found here.
These mini envelopes are also new to the Basic Grey catalog. They were first introduced in Kissing Booth, but quickly sold out! You've now got another chance to snag them with the What's Up collection.
