Two Peas Gardeners' Digest Blog Hop - October 2013
Tuesday, October 22, 2013
Hello, everyone, and welcome to my little stop on the October edition of the Gardener's Digest, a monthly blog hop where the design team girls at Two Peas in a Bucket get together to share what's coming soon, what's inspiring us, and what new goodies we're eyeing in the shop. This month I have a little giveaway to share, too, and you'll find details on that at the end of this post.
If you arrived here from Jen Kinkade's blog, then you're making you're way around the hop. If you're lost, got started in the middle, or just want to see all of the links in one spot, then the Two Peas blog is where you want to be!
I'll be on deck this coming Saturday when it's my turn again to host the Project Life video series, and in this installment I'll share how I took just one new purchase and combined it with my scraps, a few common tools, and some older stash to turn that one new item into a whole set of embellishments and journaling cards.
Normally I'd post some gallery favorites here, but this month I've been mostly watching class videos from both an older favorite and the newest workshop at Two Peas for inspiration. I'm really, really slow at going through classes and workshops since I don't have lots of time to watch videos, and this month if I've needed an extra shot of inspiration (or just something to do while eating lunch), I've turned to either a video from Wilna Furstenburg's Art Class or Shimelle Laine's new Glitter Girl workshop. The latter also has a new bonus video available. Early purchasers of the workshop got free access to the bonus material, but you can also purchase it separately, and it's all about stretching your supplies as far as possible- great inspiration for using your stash!
A few Christmas goodies have caught my eye in the shop this month, including two pieces from the just-arrived It's Christmas collection by Allison Kreft for Webster's Pages. I'm loving the small set of phrase stamps, especially since I love anything that says "Merry & Bright," and the cut-apart sheet is gorgeous, too. Crate Paper's Christmas collection, Bundled Up, has also hit the shop, and I think quite a bit of it will make it into my Christmas album this year. On the non-holiday front, I've found that Project Life mini kits are the perfect number and assortment of cards to have just enough but not too many of any one pattern, and I've taken a page from Wilna's book and have started to hot glue more and more of my embellishments using a cordless hot glue gun from Imaginisce.
I have a couple of goodies from Crate Paper to give away to one reader this week, including a pack of Maggie Holmes' Flea Market Resin Flowers and a set of Stitched Borders from the Close Knit collection.
You can enter using the Rafflecopter widget below (if you're reading this in an RSS reader, you'll need to click through to the actual blog post to see it), and I'll leave the giveaway open through Sunday night. On Monday I'll draw a winner! The contest is open to both US and international entrants, though as usual if shipping to your country is exorbitant, I may get in touch with you about giving you a Two Peas gift certificate instead.
