cha winter 2012 | cosmo cricket

Cosmo Cricket arrived at CHA Winter 2012 with a beautiful new booth setup and a new parent company. Eric, Julie, and Lindsay have settled right in with the Advantus product family, and everyone was all smiles when I wandered into their display to take photos of it all.

I even got them to pose for a couple of photos for me, themselves. :) I consider that quite a coup since Lindsay declined to pose for me at the summer show!

The papers themselves are simply beautiful across all four of their new collections, but my absolute favorite has to be the new 23 line. It takes the yellow and gray color palette that was so very hot at the summer show and jazzes it up with pops of bright orange and bold pink. It's totally gorgeous!

Cosmo Cricket's signature vintage funky vibe is definitely back in action with this collection!

There's been a slight change in the standard Cosmo Cricket embellishment lineup with this show. The "Lovely Bits" collections of die cut (and later sticker) butterfly and doily embellishments are gone, but chipboard has made its way back into the mix in the form of a jam-packed 6x12 sheet. I'm happy to report that the popular Tiny Type alphas are still around, and washi tape has also been added to the catalog!

Tea for Two is a sweetly floral line with the perfect touches of vintage styling. The color palette here is more varied than with 23, but it hangs together well, especially with the inclusion of one whole sheet of nothing but coordinating borders featuring all the collection's colors.

Total aside....but does anyone else want to surreptitiously take that turquoise cabinet off the wall and abscond with it while nobody's looking? It's beautiful!

The sassy Evangeline collection is next up on the tour, and it brings a romantic flair to this season's Cosmo Cricket catalog

I adore this blossom print- I always think that little pumpkin-shaped flowers like this are so cute! Am I the only one still hoarding some old Sassafras paper with a similar motif, though it has a totally different design?

The chipboard elements and labels for this line look like they're straight out of an old Victorian scrapbook. The butterflies and roses are so lovely!

At first glance I didn't realize that Baby Jane was actually a baby line! In fact, the only thing that's really baby themed about it are a handful the chipboard embellishments, which was a smart move on Cosmo Cricket's part. That decision took the collection from being strictly baby-themed to being oh-so versatile. The colors are just perfect for a summer line among many other things!

Cosmo Cricket may have a new parent company, but Gluber fans can rejoice that these super popular adhesive rounds are still part of the Cosmo catalog. They were prominently on display in the booth along with loads of gorgeous flowers built on Gluber bases.

Cosmo Cricket's releases are scheduled to ship in March, and Stop and Scrap is currently taking preorders for all four collections- 23, Tea For Two, Evangeline, and Baby Jane- and you can save an extra 12% off the already discounted price by using discount code SCRAPPYJEDI at checkout.

The Crate Paper preorders went up today, as well, and I'll be back a little later tonight with a tour through their CHA booth!
