This week's roundup features a little bit of everything (unlike last week's mostly Doctor Who-centric post) that geeks everywhere love and adore. Do you like ninjas, duct tape, and Joe Flanigan? I know I do (especially when combined...wait, did I just say that out loud?), so let's dive in!!
From left to right:
- Is there anything on earth better than a ninja cupcake? If there is, please don't tell me as I'm afraid my head would explode from the sheer awesomeness of it all.
- Duct tape, favorite tool of geeks and MacGyvers everywhere, is now available in sheets as well as rolls! The possibilities are simply mind-boggling (and quite possibly not-suitable-for-work).
- As if having Angry Birds on every computer platform known to man wasn't enough, some enterprising geeks have set up a real-life version of the game. You can see more in the video below.
- I so can't wait until Segway jousting is an official Olympic sport.
- Nerdvana reflects on 14 years of Stargate history as the series (in any form) comes to a close. I'm trying to imagine a world without John Sheppard (Joe Flanigan) or Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks), and it feels a bit bleaker somehow. Or at least way less snarky.
- Jen at Epbot finds the cutest and coolest sci-fi art, and these adorable Star Wars prints are no exception.
- Speaking of Epbot, she also unearthed these wicked cool Stay-Puft marshmallow man s'mores.
- I'm wondering how long it'll be before George Lucas and his team of corporate lawyers goes after the owner of the Grillenium Falcon, a Star-Wars themed snack truck.
- Scores of Doctor Who fans (including me) who really miss David Tennant
's hairin Doctor Who can rejoice that he and Catherine Tate (who played Season 4 companion Donna Noble) have once again teamed up in a stage production of Much Ado About Nothing. I'm hoping that BBC brings this to disc like they did with Hamlet (and if you haven't seen Tennant's Hamlet, go watch it- it's absolutely brilliant).
As promised, here's footage of a live-action Angry Birds game
And, just for fun (and because plumbers are cool), here's an ice-skating routine set to the music of the old 8-bit Super Mario Bros. game. Because, you know, your life won't be complete without it and all that...
Until next time, geek out, peeps!
