DCWV has four new patterned stacks at Michaels stores, and I have to say that I'm pretty excited that two of them are kraft based! The Traditional Holiday Stack is first up on deck today, and it stays true to its name with a very traditional color scheme and motifs. The collection includes mostly rustic reds and greens (printed over kraft, of course!) with vintage Santa and Christmas scenes throughout.
DCWV has a video showing all of these new stacks here if you want to take a closer look at them, and I also wanted to share a few of my favorite sheets from each.
Half of the papers in the Traditional Holiday Stack include gold foil accents, including the sheet of cut-apart tags above and the snowflake (there's also a green version of this) and Christmas tree prints below.
The Crafty Christmas stack takes kraft in a more whimsical direction, replacing rustic colors with bright reds and greens along with more modern versions of Santa.
There are quite a few scenic patterns in this stack, but lots of smaller prints are included, as well. Half of these sheets have gloss accents over the printed color to add just a touch of holiday shine.
The First Noel Stack gets down to the true meaning of Christmas, and the instant I saw it I thought of Christmas Eve services at our church, singing carols by candlelight. The jewel tone colors and rich linen texture of the papers also help to carry the theme.
Throughout the stack you'll find the Christmas star, text prints using words from traditional carols, and a variety of both scenic and small prints.
The final stack we'll look at today (which I've also made a layout and filmed a video with) is the Winter Holiday Stack. This collection takes Christmas colors in a slightly nontraditional direction by adding pink and a lighter shade of blue than normal to the usual Christmas reds and greens.
Half of these pages include glitter accents (the kind that doesn't flake off!), and the prints are just plain fun!
I took that little bit of pink in the stack and ran with it for my layout (made with just a bit of help from the Christmas and Winter Cardstock Stack from the JoAnn collections- love that gold foil paper!). I pulled out my new Studio Calico Burst Mask to trace the background pattern on this one, and my Silhouette also saw some action cutting vellum to make the title.
And, as promised, here's a video of the layout creation from start to (alomst) finish. Somehow the file with the last two minutes or so of me adhering some of the small finishing touches was corrupted on import. Thank goodness that main portion was still intact!
Happy Thursday, everyone, and thank you for stopping by the check out the newest goodies from DCWV!
