Thursday, February 21, 2013

Since tomorrow is the big monthly Garden Girl blog hop (and I just might have a workshop seat to give away then- hint, hint!), I thought I'd bring you this week's round of Friday Favorites a bit early. And, just a note for next week- I'll be taking a break from Friday Favorites entirely due to a full slate of layouts (including one with a video!) and a hop with Citrus Twist Kits on Friday. The weekly picks will return the week after that, though!

This week there's quite a mix- Lightroom, blogging ideas, sketches, Project Life, layering, creative process- you name it, it's here!

From the top left:

  • Jill Cornell shares tips for stamping and heat embossing on vellum in a guest post at Shimelle.com.
  • I {Lowe} Scrap posted a great tutorial on adding layers to your scrapbook pages.
  • Eric and Julie Comstock share some of the artistic process behind the design of two of their new paper lines, Sweet Disposition and Honky Tonk.
  • I've recently discovered Page Drafts, a new-to-me sketch site that just celebrated its first birthday. They release several sketches all at once in a big monthly release, and they're simply fabulous!
  • Learn how to make this itty bitty tag mini album at Evalicious.
  • If you haven't heard of The Craft Mom yet, you really need to check it out! I met owner Lorrie McCullers at CHA, and she has an absolutely fabulous site that posts all the greatest deals in the crafting world in one convenient location, including all the scrapbooking daily deal sites!
  • I thought I was organized with my Project Life process until I read Christine Newman's (aka Listgirl) post about how she mocks up her PL layouts in Lightroom before printing. She also shares a video tutorial that's definitely worth checking out! As a side note, Christine's process bounces off of Liz Tamanaha's (Paislee Press) process of using Photoshop to pre-plan her Project Life spreads.
  • Heidi Swapp shared a fun sketch for her Memory Files, and there are two more ideas for using it here and here.
  • Stuck on ideas for blog post topics? Erin Vale shares a list of blog post idea resources to get you started.
