spotlight on dcwv | serenity stack layout and giveaway

Good morning, everyone! It's looking like it's going to be another gorgeous spring day here, and I hope that you're all able to get out and enjoy some lovely weather today, as well. It's been looking an awful lot like this lately around my neighborhood...

...and I'm in love with it! Yes, the cherry blossoms are finally here, and are actually right around their peak right now. It's a very zen time of year for me. :)

Speaking of zen, I've got another DCWV stack to spotlight today, and this time we're going to be taking a look at the Serenity stack. As the name suggests, this collection is filled with soothing browns, tans, and neutrals, and some pages have pops of light aqua, as well. There's also a great mix of patterns here, including florals, lattices, chevrons, and touches of ikat- a style that I've noticed making its way into scrapbooking lately. In fact, in this stack you'll find ikat chevrons, damasks, and diamonds.

You can browse through more of the Serenity collection (including coordinating cardstock and mat stacks) here at DCWV's web site.

I was thrilled when DCWV sent me this collection to play with, and as I was going through my photo box to find prints that would coordinate with the colors, I came across this photo from dinner with Darren's brother's family in D.C. last OctoberYes, I know I've been scrapping this trip a lot lately, but I printed up a ton of photos when I got back and have been having a blast getting them all scrapped.

I love that these papers from DCWV helped this page come together quickly. There's a great combination of small and medium sized prints in here, and just a few large ones (Coral Couture had many more large prints, if you'd like a comparison), making it very easy to work with. I could also see this stack being paired up with brighter prints and used as a neutral base.

For some reason the heat embossing on this layout didn't photograph well. In person it looks like it fades out slowly across the image, but the full layout shot doesn't really reflect that. You can see the effect much more clearly in the photo below.

I've spotted the Serenity stack at my local JoAnn's recently, just in case you're interested in picking up a stack for yourself, and Scrapbook.com also stocks both the cardstock and print stacks.

And now for the really fun part! DCWV has generously offered to send one reader both the 12"x12" Serenity patterned paper and cardstock stacks. As always, entering is easy here- no need to follow, mention on Twitter, or like on Facebook- just leave a comment on this post to be entered to win! By request of DCWV entrants are limited to residents of the United States, and please make sure that you leave your email address somewhere on the comment form (in the hidden fields is fine as long as it's there!) so I know how to get in touch with you should your name be drawn.

Entries will close on Sunday night, March 25, and I'll contact the winner and announce their name on Monday morning. I'll also be back that morning with a Project Life layout made with the Serenity stack to wrap up this month's spotlight on DCWV.

Thanks for visiting, and good luck to all who enter!
