...and I'm in love with it! Yes, the cherry blossoms are finally here, and are actually right around their peak right now. It's a very zen time of year for me. :)
Speaking of zen, I've got another DCWV stack to spotlight today, and this time we're going to be taking a look at the Serenity stack. As the name suggests, this collection is filled with soothing browns, tans, and neutrals, and some pages have pops of light aqua, as well. There's also a great mix of patterns here, including florals, lattices, chevrons, and touches of ikat- a style that I've noticed making its way into scrapbooking lately. In fact, in this stack you'll find ikat chevrons, damasks, and diamonds.

I was thrilled when DCWV sent me this collection to play with, and as I was going through my photo box to find prints that would coordinate with the colors, I came across this photo from dinner with Darren's brother's family in D.C. last October. Yes, I know I've been scrapping this trip a lot lately, but I printed up a ton of photos when I got back and have been having a blast getting them all scrapped.
I love that these papers from DCWV helped this page come together quickly. There's a great combination of small and medium sized prints in here, and just a few large ones (Coral Couture had many more large prints, if you'd like a comparison), making it very easy to work with. I could also see this stack being paired up with brighter prints and used as a neutral base.
For some reason the heat embossing on this layout didn't photograph well. In person it looks like it fades out slowly across the image, but the full layout shot doesn't really reflect that. You can see the effect much more clearly in the photo below.
I've spotted the Serenity stack at my local JoAnn's recently, just in case you're interested in picking up a stack for yourself, and Scrapbook.com also stocks both the cardstock and print stacks.
