The old Cosmo is back!
It was a phrase I overheard many times on the CHA Winter 2013 show floor as attendees excitedly discussed how the four new collections in the Cosmo Cricket booth were so reflective of the company's artistic roots. Eric and Julie Comstock's partnership with Advantus has definitely allowed the husband and wife design team to get back to doing what they love and do best- designing beautiful scrapbooking products!
We'll start off our tour of the Cosmo Cricket booth with a look at Sweet Disposition- a feminine line that's lovely and at the same time not so girly that there isn't room to pull pieces out for boy layouts, too.
The lineup of embellishments for each collection looks to have been expanded, with stamps, chipboard, tags, canvas brads, and fabric stickers taking their place amongst the regular cardstock stickers and Tiny Type alphas.
Summer Love is my favorite of the four new lines, both for the gorgeous bright color palette and for the touches of ombre- something that Julie said she was excited to be able to finally include in a collection!
The TV Dinner collection features a retro food theme, and while some of the papers and embellishments are definitely food-specific, there are lots of non-themed prints and b-sides that would fit a variety of layout subjects.
Being a Nashville girl, the guitar motifs in Cosmo's fourth collection, Honky Tony, definitely reminded me of home! This collection includes some fantastic woodgrain prints and is just a bit reminiscent of the Wanted collection- it should be a good match if you have any of the older line left in your stash!
All four of Cosmo Cricket's new collections are scheduled to ship to retailers in March. You can find Cosmo Cricket products at Two Peas in a Bucket, Simon Says Stamp, and Scrapbook.com.
