january gardener's digest {giveaway}

Tuesday, January 22, 2013

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the January edition of the Two Peas in a Bucket Garden Girls' monthly blog hop (and my first time participating!). If you arrived from Lynn Ghahary's blog, then you're making your way around the circle! If not, you can jump back here and find the start of all the festivities.

Just a couple of sneak peeks of my upcoming page for February's Valentine's Day themed debut in the Two Peas Garden. Being a geek, I just can't make a normal V-Day layout, and Bruce Willis may or may not be involved. ;)

Right now projects by Tessa Buys, Ashli Oliver, and Caz Hancock are catching my eye! I love how Tessa used the oversized chevron print from Crate Paper's Fourteen collection as her background, I'm imagining those vellum stars by Ashli as hearts for Valentine's Day, and Caz did a great job with layering and adding finishing touches to her sweet layout! Be sure to click through to see more details about each project.

Sn@p Pads + Labels by Simple Stories

If you watched my contribution to the Two Peas Project Life 2013 class for January, this you got a firsthand look at how much I love these little 3x4 and 4x6 pads just stuffed full of great journaling and decorative cards. I'm pretty well smitten with the labels, too, and so excited that an extension to this line is coming soon!

Pebbles Journaling Card Pads

Pebbles also has a fantastic range of journaling card pads available, with both 4x6 and 3x4 options mixed in the same book. Like my Sn@p pads, these have seen so much use in my scrap room that they've been completely taken apart!

Wood Veneers

These lovely little neutral embellishments have taken their place among bling and buttons in my stash as a go-to item when I need just a little something extra in an embellishment cluster. A few current favorites are:

Cut Apart Sheets

If you're into using stash like me this year but still drooling over the new releases, these cut apart sheets (some feature journaling cards, tags, and borders) are usually priced around $1 each and bring just a touch of those new collections into your layouts. Here are just a few of my current favorites:

Echo Park Today's Story Photo Freedom

This collection was one of the last things I ordered last year, and I am completely in love with it for use on both traditional layouts and in Project Life.

Today I've got a spot in Julie Campbell's new mini-workshop, Journey Into Cardmaking, to give away to one lucky reader!
Whether you’re a seasoned card maker or have yet to make your first card, this workshop will take you on a journey to create handmade cards that your friends & loved ones will cherish.
Julie will start out by teaching you card making basics, and you will create a card organizer to file away all the new cards you'll be designing! You'll then travel on to gain greater design skills. You’ll dive into design principles and learn how to create an eye pleasing design. You’ll learn all about composition & balance in a way that will take your cards from good to great!
To enter, simply leave a comment below by midnight CST on Sunday, January 27. And, if you've already signed up for this class (or if you want to go ahead and sign up without waiting to see if you've won), no worries- Two Peas will refund your class fee if you are the randomly selected winner! I'll contact the winner on Monday morning (please be sure to leave your email address in the comment form) to get you set up for your workshop!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Be sure to visit Shimelle Laine's lovely blog for the next stop on today's hop!
