fall color
Sunday, November 6, 2011
We've had a rare burst of fall color around here lately, which is really, really unusual for northern Alabama. Usually our leaves are green right up until it suddenly turns cold and they all commit a mass botanical suicide overnight, leaving piles of icky brown leaves on the ground and equally icky bare branches on the trees. This year, though, the cooling has been more gradual, so I guess the little guys aren't as shocked as they would have otherwise been and are showing their happy colors before blowing away.
Darren and I went out on a couple of little photography expeditions last weekend to capture these shots, but what's more amazing to us is that all this gorgeousness is still here this weekend!
